Education
The Mission of Congregation Bethaynu's Religious School is to
instill in each child the joy of Judaism and its application to daily life.
This will be attained through the study of Tanach (Bible), Hebrew,
Jewish history, Israel, Jewish customs and practices, and Jewish values. Each
student will develop an understanding of his or her responsibilities as a
Conservative Jew in the synagogue and in the world Jewish community. We will
encourage Jewish continuity by empowering each child to grow spiritually and
religiously in order to develop a Jewish identity.
We believe that a child's Jewish learning begins at the same
time as the child's secular learning, at Kindergarten age, and in that regard
we offer religious school for that age up through confirmation. In keeping with
the mission, the religious school works with the synagogue's family educator to
plan and implement Jewish family learning activities.
